NavFloor is an intelligent flooring system that guides visually impaired and elderly users through physical spaces using haptic feedback and gentle directional resistance. Each tile contains actuators that provide subtle guidance cues — like the strings of a marionette invisibly guiding your steps.
A visually impaired user walks into a hospital they've never visited before. As they step onto the NavFloor, they feel the floor subtly 'pull' their left foot forward — a gentle haptic nudge. They follow these invisible guidance cues, navigating complex corridors and finding their doctor's office without ever asking for directions or using a cane. The floor itself becomes their guide.
