INTERACTIVE DEMO: FIX LEAKY FAUCET

Click each layer to reveal and complete the step. Watch the progress bar fill.

Layer 1: Turn Off Water Supply

Locate the shut-off valves under your sink and turn them clockwise until tight. This prevents flooding during your repair.

Layer 2: Close Drain Stopper

Close the drain or cover it with a rag. Small screws LOVE falling down drains - don't let them escape!

Layer 3: Remove Faucet Handle

Pop off the decorative cap. Unscrew the handle screw. Lift off the handle. You're doing great!

Layer 4: Unscrew Packing Nut

Use your adjustable wrench. Turn counter-clockwise. It might be stiff - that's normal!

Layer 5: Replace Worn Washer

Remove the old washer. Replace with exact same size. This tiny rubber piece is probably why your faucet was leaking!

Layer 6: Reassemble & Test

Put everything back in reverse order. Turn water supply back on. Check for leaks. You did it!
