Transforming emergency tents into personalized sanctuaries of hope
ShadowIgloo paints therapeutic light murals inside temporary shelters, using shadows as canvas to restore dignity and mental wellbeing for families displaced by crisis.
A family who just fled their war-torn home enters a stark UN tent and watches as their children's shadows are suddenly painted with a familiar park from their hometown. Then the mother receives an SMS prompt and uploads a photo of their grandmother, which the system seamlessly weaves into the projected mural—for the first time in weeks, they feel like humans again, not just numbers in a camp.
B2G contracts with UNHCR, Red Cross, and NGOs at $12,000 per unit—one projector + solar battery + SMS gateway covers 4-6 tents. Monthly $500 service agreements include software updates and content management. Initial pilot targets 500 units in year 1 = $6M ARR, funded by existing humanitarian aid budgets that currently allocate $0 to mental health infrastructure.
